Love

(Random Old Poem of the Day)
12-1-02

Paper wings and pink tights
Floating like a feather
In a tutu made of buffalo hide
Dancing in the circles
Of a mirror ball
Dirt floors and aluminum roofs
My mind swung from
Your sideburns
To your dirty fingernails
Your Def Leopard posters
Hanging in my windows
Fuzzy dice floating on your rear-view
Our own enchanted Breakfast Club
We watched old movies
And ate candy corn
Baby parachute pants
Dangling in your closet
Our unborn children will hop
Dream of river running
Melt in fog and bitter smells
I'll love you
Until Caucasian-Americans
Are considered a minority
Until scalping a bald man
Is common place.
